Identification and screening

• Each swimmer will receive an electronic chip to be placed on the right leg.
• A numbered cap will be provided and must be worn during the race.
• It is essential that all swimmers pass the first participant check before boarding the boat that will take them to the starting point.

Permitted and prohibited equipment

The rules set out clear rules on the equipment that may be used during the race:
 

• The use of fins, mask, snorkel, water MP3 players or cameras is not allowed.
• Swimmers may apply body fat or other substances, as long as this is not in excess.
• The use of swimming costumes with zips or hooks is prohibited, thus ensuring fairness among all competitors.

Time limit

In order to maintain an orderly flow in the competition, a clear time limit is set: Participants have one hour after the arrival of the first swimmer at the finish line to complete the crossing. Those who exceed this time must withdraw from the event.
 

One of the aspects you should bear in mind is that the race can be suspended if weather conditions require it. In case of suspension, the time registered up to that moment will be taken as the effective time, considering valid only the times of those who have crossed the finish line up to 10 minutes before the decision.
