The best beaches of La Graciosa

Playa de La Francesa

Considered one of the best beaches for its waters and jable is located in the south of La Graciosa, the beach has incredible views and is divided into two areas separated by a small rocky dike, the beach has a wonderful white sand and turquoise transparent waters with little waves that has nothing to envy to the beaches of the Caribbean being an exceptional place to travel with your friends or family and enjoy a wonderful beach.

The most outstanding thing about this beach is its tranquillity as, despite being one of the most popular beaches, it is not usually crowded, and is perfect for those who are looking for total disconnection. You can also reach this wonderful beach by kayak from Caleta de Sebo or by walking for a couple of minutes and the beach is not serviced so it is essential to bring water, sunscreen and some food if you plan to spend the day.

One of the curiosities of this beach is that when the tide is high, the beach turns into a real lagoon, ideal for snorkelling, seeing a variety of fish and enjoying the transparent waters and ideal for diving.

Playa de La Cocina

The beach of La Cocina, also known as the Yellow Mountain, can only be reached by walking for 10-15 minutes from the beach of La Francesa, as neither bicycles nor taxis can access this wonderful beach and the first thing you can see as soon as you arrive at this beach is the wonderful view of an ancient volcano.

The beach has fine golden sand that merges with clean and crystalline waters and is ideal for activities such as snorkelling or diving, which is an unforgettable experience as you can observe the colourful fish that swim fearlessly between volcanic rocks while you let yourself be carried away by the current and the wonderful marine life that can be seen.

What makes this beach unique is its sense of isolation as it is more remote, there are far fewer people, and you can often have it all to yourself, there is no natural shade, so sun cream and a hat or umbrella is a must, there are no beach bars or toilets, so it is ideal to bring your own food and be prepared if you want to spend the day on the beach.

Playa de Las Conchas

Now moving to the north of the island we can discover the beach of Las Conchas, probably the most spectacular of all La Graciosa, a wonderful beach that has golden sand almost reddish, turquoise waters and despite being somewhat complicated to access its wonderful view of the Montaña Clara and the Roque del Oeste make this beach worth a visit.

Despite being a magnificent beach it is not a swimming beach due to its strong waves and dangerous sea currents, but it is perfect for strolling, sunbathing and contemplating the horizon, with a contrast of colours from another planet with its intense blue sea and bright golden sands that is worth seeing.

Playa del Ámbar

Amber Beach, also known as Lambra Beach, is located in the northeast of the island and is probably one of the least visited and wildest beaches on the island, this beach is perfect for those seeking total solitude and has sands that have an amber hue that shimmers in the sun, especially at sunset, creating a magical and warm atmosphere.

Getting to this beach is quite an adventure, as it requires a long hike or bike ride on dirt roads. But the effort is rewarded as it is an unspoilt beach, surrounded by dunes and rock formations, with powerful waves crashing on the shore.

The beach has wonderful views and is an ideal place for those who love photography or want to disconnect from the world. It is advisable to bring food, water and sun protection and precautions should be taken as the beach is exposed to the north winds, which makes the waters have strong currents and are dangerous, so it is advisable not to swim or take precautions if you do.

Playa de La Laja

La Laja beach is the closest beach to Caleta de Sebo, next to the harbour which makes it very accessible and perfect for those who don't want to go too far away, although it is not the most spectacular in terms of scenery, it has a relaxed, local and authentic atmosphere.

This beach with calm waters and sandy bottom is ideal for families, especially if you are travelling with children, you can also see fishermen returning with their boats, mending their nets, locals sunbathing and visitors strolling. There are restaurants and shops nearby, allowing you to spend a full day without having to carry everything with you.

La Laja is also a perfect place to end the day after an excursion around the island. Watching the sunset from the shore with the pier in the background and the lights slowly coming on in the village is a romantic and relaxing plan.
